Jim,

   Thanks for the explanation.  I think I see now.  A very similar problem
   shows up if you want to rename "fields" in any of the LSL shorthands.  The
   shorthands were put in the language to reduce the amount of duplicate
   boilerplate; unfortunately, they do so only at the base level, not when
   traits are referenced.

Ah ha, I see that and hadn't thought of it before.

   of the private feedback you get, feel free to quote any still-relevant
   portions of my messages.
